Man finds infuriating note and gift left by driver who crashed into his parked car

Crashing into a parked car while the owner isn’t around is a true litmus test of a person’s morality.

Some choose to flee the scene as quickly as possible in a bid to escape the financial implications, while others leave a note with their contact details and take full responsibility.

But one man who returned to his car to find a huge dent smashed into the side shared the note and gifts he found left on the bonnet – and people are furious.

TikTok user @Professor_taz posted a video titled ‘Someone hit my car this morning’ and it’s since been viewed more than 7.2 million times.

A note tucked under one of the windscreen wipers by the guilty driver reads: “I’m sorry for hitting you car. It was an accident. I don’t have money or insurance but here’s snacks. Sowwy,” with a drawing of two sad faces and a heart.

He then lowers the note, showing the crackers and crisps left behind as a peace offering, saying: “They left me some Ritz Bits and some Cheetos. Let’s see the hit…”

The camera then pans to the side of the car, showing a huge dent taking up an entire door, with much of the paint work scratched off in the collision.

Although he managed to hold back any judgement, thousands of people took to the comments to express exactly what we’re all thinking, as one wrote: “Yeah let’s not normalise this and I hope you find them and hold them accountable.”

A second raged: “So $2,000 in damages but $5 worth of snacks… yeah that seems fair.”

Others attempted to defend the decision, as one said: “Why you complaining they still left you something they could’ve just took off and left nothing”, and a second commented: “At least they tried – insurance will cover it.”

But plenty of others shut them down, snapping back: “Lol some people in the comments saying ‘the food is okay just move on’ obviously don’t own their own vehicle and pay bills.”

Someone else echoed: “People really defending this saying they have no money and it’s okay? What about the guy who now has to pay thousands to fix that?”
